An English school name does not identify the legal institution enrolling a student or the programme covered by its authorization. Georgia’s National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) publishes general-education authorization information and links to the official lists of public and authorized private institutions. Check those records before comparing an offer, especially when a school presents a foreign-language curriculum.

Identify the institution behind the school name

Ask the school for its full legal name in Georgian and the name of the entity shown on its enrolment contract. Search the legal name, not only an English brand, campus label or group name. The NCEQE English list page links to separate Georgian-language lists for public legal-entity schools and authorized private schools. If a name does not match, ask the school to explain the legal entity and point to its NCEQE entry or Council decision. Do not treat a missing English translation as proof either way.

Check the programme as well as the institution

NCEQE describes authorization as an institutional quality-assurance evaluation. Its general-education authorization page separately defines programme types, including primary, basic and secondary education, a general-education programme taught in a foreign language, and a programme implemented in a different municipality. For a school marketing an English-medium or other foreign curriculum, ask which programme and campus its authorization record covers. A listing does not confirm authorization for each class, language or site a school promotes.

Read the decision and current dates

  • Match the legal name and address in the school’s documents to the official record.
  • Open the Council decision and expert report linked from NCEQE when available. The Center says Council decisions and reports are published on its website.
  • Check the authorization period and any later notice before relying on an older PDF or a school’s summary.
  • Save the official page and decision date you used. If documents show different names, ask the school and NCEQE to identify the current record.

NCEQE’s general-education FAQ describes authorization standards covering school philosophy, curriculum, learning-process support and student support. Authorization is a threshold record, not a family’s comparison of daily teaching, language support, class size, schedule or fit. Ask each school those questions separately, and obtain any programme-specific answer in writing.

The authorization check does not establish admission availability, fees, classroom capacity or transfer placement. A Georgia authorization record does not decide how a school, authority or professional body abroad will assess a qualification. If a future transfer matters, ask the receiving institution to review the records and curriculum details. The NCEQE lists are published in Georgian, so keep the school’s exact Georgian legal name beside the English name when you search.
