Georgian Post separates local parcels within Georgia from international and overland services. For an ordinary domestic parcel, start with the local parcel information and confirm the handover point.

Find the service centre for the right address

Open Georgian Post’s official homepage and choose Service Centers. Use its listing to identify a suitable office, then confirm its current address and visit information. The homepage also links to tracking, a postage calculator, parcel pre-registration and Home to Home. These are separate from a counter handover.

Use the official Service Centers listing to select the relevant office. For collection, consult the current delivery notice and tracking details first, then verify the destination service centre. The posting counter and the collection point serve different parts of the journey, so do not route to the sender’s original branch by default.

Prepare a local parcel for posting

The operator’s parcel page identifies a local parcel as a service sent and delivered within Georgia. Its public site has separate pages for local, international and overland parcels, so make sure the local option matches both endpoints. Before visiting a counter, write the sender’s return details and the recipient’s name and full delivery address clearly. Add a useful contact number if you have one, and keep a separate note of what is inside. These are practical preparation steps; check Georgian Post’s current public instructions for any required form or item-specific condition.

At the service centre, identify the item as a local parcel and confirm how the recipient will receive it. Ask which delivery option applies and what reference the recipient needs. Keep the receipt and parcel code until collection. The site also lists pre-registration and Home to Home, which are separate digital workflows.

Collect from the notice, not an old address

If a courier misses the recipient, Georgian Post says the parcel returns to the service centre responsible for that address. The FAQ says the recipient can collect it there or request paid address delivery. Use the branch in the current notice and check status through the official tracking page if you have a code. A previous delivery attempt or familiar branch does not identify the current collection point.

  • For sending, select the local parcel information and confirm the service centre that fits your handover.
  • For collection, use the branch named in the current message or notice.
  • Keep the parcel code and posting receipt. Use the official tracking tool for status when a code is available.
  • Recheck the operator’s current location and service details before travelling.
