Mountain Trails Agency (MTA) describes four ski destinations: Gudauri, Bakuriani, Mestia and Goderdzi. Its FAQ names separate operating areas within the first three, so the resort name alone is not a complete ski-day plan. Use the table to identify the exact operator label to search, then check MTA’s current status and map page for the area and trails shown for your date.

Read the operator’s area labels

MTA resort labelNamed areas in the checked operator materialConcrete distinction for planning
GudauriGudauri and KobiMTA’s FAQ treats Gudauri and Kobi as separate areas. Its resort overview describes Gudauri trails using green, blue, red and black labels. Use the area name on the live map when confirming a lesson or stay location.
BakurianiDidveli, Kokhta and MitarbiMTA names three areas. Ask which one a lesson meeting point or accommodation plan refers to; a listing that says only Bakuriani does not identify the area.
MestiaHatsvali and TetnuldiThe operator lists two separate areas. MTA’s Zuruldi project page says the lift connects Hatsvali with Zuruldi. The connection is a named infrastructure fact, not proof that it operates on your date.
GoderdziGoderdziMTA includes Goderdzi among its ski destinations. The FAQ checked for this guide does not name a subarea there, so use the resort label shown on the current map rather than inventing a subdivision.

Use dated Mestia details as map clues, not current conditions

MTA’s notice for the 2024–25 season named Hatsvali and Zuruldi lifts with Tezo and Tezo 1 trails; its Tetnuldi list named Chvabiani and Jumber Kakhiani lifts and their trails. These historical names give you precise terms to compare with the live status page. They do not say which lift or trail will operate in a later season. The Zuruldi project page records the connection between Hatsvali and Zuruldi, which helps distinguish the two area descriptions without ranking them by terrain or ability.

Use the map before you book the details

  • Choose the resort that fits the trip, then write down the exact area label from MTA’s map.
  • Check the same label with your accommodation, instructor or pickup provider. Ask for the meeting point by area name, not only the resort name.
  • Read the trail names and operating status on the date you plan to ski. MTA’s FAQ, dated 11 January 2026, directs visitors to its site and status service for lift and open-trail updates.
  • If you plan to move between areas, confirm the connection with MTA and the provider responsible for your transport. The sources reviewed here do not establish a current area-to-area transfer plan.

This comparison gives you the operator’s map vocabulary and the distinction each source supports. It does not rank resorts, assess a skier’s ability or state current snow, lift operation, ticket terms or opening dates.
