Check a bank or payment provider in an NBG register
Choose the NBG list that matches the legal service, then match the public name and registration details to the organization asking for payment.

A brand name is not enough to check a Georgian financial organization. Start with the exact service: an entity that presents itself as a commercial bank belongs in the National Bank of Georgia's licensed-commercial-banks list; a payment service provider belongs in the separate registered-provider list. Those are different records and should not be treated as one general directory.
For a commercial bank, use the licensed list
The NBG page is titled “Licensed Commercial Banks.” Its entries show the bank name, license number and issuing date under a status heading. Find the legal name used in the organization's contract or payment instructions, then compare the spelling and available license details with the page. Save the official URL and the date you checked it. The list can change, so an old screenshot or cached result is weaker evidence than a fresh read.
For a payment service, use the registered-provider list
The NBG's payment-service-provider page is headed “Registered.” It includes registration number, provider name, legal form, identification code, registration date and director name. Compare the provider's legal name and identification code with the details on the service's own legal notice or agreement. If an app shows a brand name only, ask which legal entity supplies the payment service before relying on a partial name match.
What a register check tells you
A match helps establish whether the named entity appears in the NBG list for that category and which identifying details the NBG publishes. It does not compare the service's price, usability or contract, and it is not a recommendation to use that product. A name mismatch is a reason to pause and resolve the identity question with the organization using contact details you obtain independently from its official site.
- Write down the service category before opening a register. Bank and payment-provider lists answer different questions.
- Match the full legal name. For a payment provider, also compare the identification code when the organization publishes it.
- Check the license or registration fields and the date shown on the NBG page.
- If you cannot find the legal entity, do not infer status from a logo, social page, advertising name or a different company's entry. Ask the organization for its legal name and relevant NBG category, then recheck the official page.
The point of this check is identity and category. It cannot settle whether a financial product suits your needs or what recourse applies to a specific agreement. Read the terms separately and retain the dated register page you consulted.
