Sachkhere: choose a town collection or a village museum visit
Use the regional directory to distinguish Sachkhere town institutions from museum visits in Skhvitori and other administrative units.

Sachkhere sits in the basin of the Qvirila and Dzirula rivers. The Imereti Administration page lists thirteen administrative units, so the name Sachkhere covers a town and a wider municipality of villages. Choose a collection and its settlement before setting the scope of a visit.
Choose the town museum for local ethnography
The Imereti State Representative Administration lists the Saweretlo ethnographic museum in Sachkhere itself. Other museums sit in named localities across the municipality. Choose this town listing when you want a central stop; a village collection requires a separate location plan.
Choose Skhvitori for literary history and archaeology
Skhvitori is a village in Sachkhere Municipality. The GNTA describes two museum visits there: Jurkha Nadiradze Local Museum for archaeology and local history, and the Akaki Tsereteli House-Museum for the poet's manuscripts and library. The Nadiradze museum opened in 1978 in the garden of Akaki's mother, Ekaterine Abashidze, and holds over 10,500 artifacts, including gold objects, bronze tools, textiles and books. The Tsereteli house, built by Greeks in 1834 for the poet's father, became a museum in 1943. Its estate includes grain and corn silos, a bakery, stable, vines and the family's personal church. The collection also includes Georgian, Russian and French literature. Choose between archaeology and literary history before planning the village stop.
Treat the other village collections as separate locations
The Imereti listing also places museums in Savane, Argveti, Kalvata and Koreti. The page gives no visitor hours or transport timetable. If one of these localities is your main purpose, use its settlement name when planning a separate stop.
Read the tourism page location labels carefully
The GNTA town page groups village sites such as Skhvitori and Savane under its Sachkhere sights heading. Use the village name in each listing as the location reference, rather than assuming the page heading means the site stands in the town center.
- Choose the town entry for the ethnographic museum listing.
- Choose Skhvitori when manuscripts, writer history or archaeology are the reason for your visit.
- Choose a different village museum only after checking its current location and visitor information.
