Lentekhi sits in Lower Svaneti beside the Tskhenistskali gorge. It works as a heritage-focused stop in its own right, while the Zeskho–Ghebi itinerary is a separate three-day mountain commitment. Decide which visit fits your time and hiking experience before connecting it to an Upper Svaneti plan.

Choose the town for a focused cultural visit

The Georgian National Tourism Administration identifies the fortified Dadiani palace complex and the Lado Museliani Local Lore Museum among Lentekhi’s visitor interests. The museum’s listed holdings span Bronze Age archaeology, medieval religious objects, handwritten prayers and Lower Svaneti ethnography. The municipal heritage page describes local churches with Georgian inscriptions and, at some sites, exterior wall paintings. Choose one or two subjects to follow rather than treating scattered churches as a single walk.

Choose Zeskho–Ghebi only if you have three walking days

Georgia Travel describes the Zeskho–Ghebi trail as a difficult three-day route. Its listed stages cover 10 km from Zeskho to Lapuri Camp, 12 km to Sasvano Lakes Camp and 21 km to Ghebi. The route crosses high passes, including Lapuri Pass at 2,526 metres and Vatsistveri Pass at 2,900 metres. These are planning figures from the published route, not a current condition report.

Keep the approach separate from the hike

The official route page places Zeskho 62 km by road from Lentekhi and starts the trek at Zeskho Alpine Camp. It notes that only a few families stay in the village during winter. The page does not provide a current transfer schedule or confirm present trail conditions, so arrange the road leg and confirm the route locally before committing to the stages.
