Borjomi makes two very different kinds of day possible. One stays within the resort town and its historic park. The other uses Borjomi as an entry point for a protected-area outing that may involve marked trails and more preparation. Choose which kind of visit you want before packing the schedule. The town park and the national park are separate places with separate visitor arrangements.

Keep a town day simple

Georgia Travel describes Borjomi Park as a green public focus in the valley, with the Ekaterine mineral-water spring among its visitor sights. The same guide describes a cable car above the town and forest paths leading beyond the park. Treat those as options to check on the day, not guaranteed services. A useful town visit can focus on the park landscape, the spring and the history of Borjomi as a resort. The guide also points to local architectural and historical sights, including the Borjomi Museum of Local Lore and Green Monastery, if you want a second theme.

Plan the national park separately

Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is a much larger protected area spanning parts of three regions. The Agency of Protected Areas lists marked routes ranging from short outings to multi-day trips, with hiking, horse riding, cycling and seasonal snowshoe activities among the formats. It requires visitors to register at a park visitor centre. The Agency lists centres in Borjomi and Kharagauli, and says they provide visitor services and route information.

Make a route decision with the official centre

Choose a trail by its published distance, duration, difficulty and overnight needs. A trail page is planning information, not confirmation that a route is suitable or open on your chosen date. Ask the visitor centre about current trail conditions, registration, permitted entry points, accommodation, equipment and transport back from the finish. Do this before you set out, especially for a route that crosses the park or takes more than one day.

  • For a low-planning day, stay in Borjomi and check what is open in the town park.
  • For a hike, read the Agency's trail notes and register through a visitor centre before entry.
  • For an overnight route, confirm shelter or camping arrangements and the exact route with park staff.
  • For an uncertain forecast or limited daylight, choose a shorter plan only after confirming local conditions.

Do not use a town attraction guide as a substitute for park planning. The Agency's pages give the right starting point for trails and entry requirements. Recheck them close to the visit, because a listed route does not report current weather, trail damage or on-the-ground restrictions.
